About our project

Our work is led by people with and without learning disabilities and autistic people. What we learn about collaborative working on our research journey is as important as the research itself. We work in a flexible way and we are learning new ways of seeing, being, doing and relating. We are experimenting and doing research in different ways! Follow our progress on this page! Heart n Soul are discovering new and exciting ways of working and collaborating by bringing together people, with and without learning disabilities, who have skills and experience in research, art, design, technology and health. A group of co-researchers, who are all autistic or have a learning disability, have some big questions for you, and they invite you to take part in their accessible non surveys You'll be able to respond by video or audio, as well as by typing. The group wants to see a positive change in society for people with learning disabilities and autistic people. We hope that by shedding new light on public attitudes we can better understand how this change could happen. There will be lots of opportunities to get involved in the project. Heart n Soul is a leading creative arts company with learning disability culture at our heart. Our work is about art, training and taking part. Diverse artists and participants work together towards our goal of making a more creative, fun and open world. Our vision is of people with a learning disability living full and equal lives with independence, freedom and pride. We offer a range of opportunities for people to take part, train in a new skill, or develop their artistic talents. Artists and participants share their work live, recorded or online for as many different people to enjoy as possible. We make inclusive creative spaces where people are free to express themselves and learn. We encourage experimentation in all things. Key Projects include Olympic commission the Dean Rodney Singers international digital collaboration, Allsorts — creative arts for adults taking part, Do Your Own Thing — creative arts for young people taking part, and People Skills — continuing professional development.
